ELECTRO-POD

 

 

 

Electro-Pod : set of fairings in order to reduce form drag and interference drag, and optimize system's performances manufactured by the E-STRAT department.

 

 

 

On the Cri-Cri, sleek motor cowlings helped minimize drag, and the speed was achieved using only 75 percent power.

On September 5th 2010, pilot Hugues Duval established a firstworld speed record for electric airplane aboard his twin engine MC15E  CriCri “E-Cristaline”. During Pontoise Air show, the top speed of 262 km/h (141 kt) was recorded by Aero Club de France organizers. Then, during the 2011 Paris Air Show (25/06/2011), Hugues has reached the speed of 283 km/h !

This airplane was equipped with two ELECTRAVIA electric propulsion systems, two E-PROPS propellers specially designed for this record, two Lithium-Polymère KOKAM BATTERIES and two ELECTRO-POD.
